Vision Builders

What is Vision Builders?

At the heart of Vision Builders is a desire for people to be transformed by the power of Christ. It is a partnership between ordinary people and an extraordinary purpose.

Vision Builders funds the initiatives that serve this vision. It is responsible for raising the finance needed to facilitate projects and ministries that reach, build and care in Malmö and beyond. We have our annual Vision Builder presentation in autumn, where we present the initiatives for the upcoming year. This year with our pending relocation we have decided to focus on two initiatives for Renewal & Revitalisation, the contents of which are summarised below.

Each calendar year we also post a summary of our health metrics and initiatives in our annual report which you can download below. The next report will be published in the new year.

How to partner with Vision Builders

Make a pledge

Please prayerfully consider the level of giving that you feel is appropriate for you and your family, based on wisdom and faith. The philosophy of Vision Builders is that together we all give through equal sacrifice, not equal giving.

  • Pause

Block out some time from all you are doing and the busyness all around us to reflect on the past year with God. Take time to pause and be reminded who you are coming before. As we read in Ecclesiastes 5, we should go before God with a listening ear and let our words be few.

One way to slow down in this way is to pray a prayer phrase (e.g. “my heart is yours, O Lord”), pray a verse (e.g. “renew a right spirit within me”), or pray in the Spirit.

  • Rejoice

After reflecting on your year rejoice in where you are and what you have. Sometimes this is not easy, but there is always reason to rejoice in the Lord (Philippians 4:4). It helps correct our perspective and reminds us who God is.

Reading Psalms and singing worship songs are great vehicles to inspire our praise. Write thanks for what he has done in your life, world and church the past year

  • Ask

If you have done the previous two steps, by the time you get to what you want to ask, your heart is in a better position. You are not demanding God to perform for you; you are coming to your Heavenly Father to have Him take care of you. Write your dreams for your life, your world and your church this coming year.

Just remember that God is not on our timetable. If you don’t receive what you ask for, doesn’t mean it wasn’t His will or that He doesn’t want to give it to you. God delights in our perseverance.

So unless He tells you otherwise, just keep asking.

  • Yield

We will never ask for everything perfectly, but having a heart that surrenders to God puts you into a position where God can translate your requests for things for your good.

In your times of prayer, wherever you feel Him leading, follow Him. What is God asking from you? Write down your commitment for each ask. Yielding yourself to His leading is the start of a fun adventure.

Say yes to God and become your prayers. Allow God to speak to your heart; He wants you to experience the joy of partnering with Him.
